09 July Sun, 2017 A Joyful Heart [ 2 Chronicles 7:1 - 7:10 ] - hymn40 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Psalm 100:1 My granddaughter’s favorite tune is one of John Philip Sousa’s marches. Sousa, the “march king,” was a US composer in the late nineteenth century. Moriah isn’t in a marching band; she’s only 20 months old. She just loves the tune and can even hum a few notes. She associates it with joyful times. When our family gets together, we often hum this song along with claps and other boisterous noises, and the grandchildren dance or parade in circles to the beat. It always ends in dizzy children and lots of laughter.  Our joyful noise reminds me of the psalm that implores us to “worship the Lord with gladness”(Ps. 100:2). When King Solomon dedicated the temple, the Israelites celebrated with praises(2 Chron. 7:5–6). Psalm 100 may have been one of the songs they sang. The psalm declares: “Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth; worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. . . . Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name”(vv. 1, 4). Why? “For the Lord is good and his love endures forever!”(v. 5).  Our good God loves us! In grateful response, let’s "shout for joy to the Lord"!(Ps. 100:1). Alyson Kieda     • Dear Lord, give us thankful hearts to praise You, because You are good and all that You do is good. Your love endures forever! Praise is the overflow of a joyful heart. 1. When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the LORD filled the temple. 2. The priests could not enter the temple of the LORD because the glory of the LORD filled it. 3. When all the Israelites saw the fire coming down and the glory of the LORD above the temple, they knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped and gave thanks to the LORD, saying, "He is good; his love endures forever." 4. Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the LORD. 5. And King Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand head of cattle and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep and goats. So the king and all the people dedicated the temple of God. 6. The priests took their positions, as did the Levites with the LORD's musical instruments, which King David had made for praising the LORD and which were used when he gave thanks, saying, "His love endures forever." Opposite the Levites, the priests blew their trumpets, and all the Israelites were standing. 7. Solomon consecrated the middle part of the courtyard in front of the temple of the LORD, and there he offered burnt offerings and the fat of the fellowship offerings, because the bronze altar he had made could not hold the burnt offerings, the grain offerings and the fat portions. 8. So Solomon observed the festival at that time for seven days, and all Israel with him -- a vast assembly, people from Lebo Hamath to the Wadi of Egypt. 9. on the eighth day they held an assembly, for they had celebrated the dedication of the altar for seven days and the festival for seven days more. 10. on the twenty-third day of the seventh month he sent the people to their homes, joyful and glad in heart for the good things the LORD had done for David and Solomon and for his people Israel.

2017년 07월 09일 (주일) 기쁜 마음 [ 역대하 7:1 - 7:10 ] - 찬송가 40장 온 땅이여 여호와께 즐거운 찬송을 부를지어다 시편 100:1 우리 손녀는 존 필립 소사의 행진곡 중의 한 곡을 아주 좋아합니다. ‘행진곡의 왕’으로 알려진 소사는 19세기 말에 활동했던 미국 작곡가입니다. 손녀 모리아는 밴드부원이 아닌, 이제 겨우 20개월 된 아기일 뿐입니다. 그런데도 그 곡을 너무 좋아해서 몇 소절을 따라 할 수도 있습니다. 그 아이에게는 그 곡 자체가 즐거운 시간입니다. 가족들이 함께 모여서 손뼉 치고 떠들썩하게 그 노래를 함께 흥얼거리면, 아이들은 박자에 맞추어 춤을 추거나 동그랗게 행진을 합니다. 그러다가 결국 아이들이 어지러워하면서 웃음바다가 됩니다. 우리가 즐거이 소리 내어 노래할 때면 나는 “기쁨으로 여호와를 섬기라”(시 100:2)라고 우리에게 간청하는 시편 말씀이 떠오릅니다. 솔로몬 왕이 성전을 봉헌할 때 이스라엘 백성들은 찬양으로 송축했습니다(대하 7:5-6). 시편 100편은 아마 그들이 찬양했던 노래 중의 하나일지도 모릅니다. 그 시편은 이와 같이 선포합니다. “온 땅이여 여호와께 즐거운 찬송을 부를지어다 기쁨으로 여호와를 섬기며 노래하면서 그의 앞에 나아갈지어다…감사함으로 그의 문에 들어가며 찬송하며 그의 궁정에 들어가서 그에게 감사하며 그의 이름을 송축할지어다”(1-2, 4절). 왜 그렇습니까? 그것은 “여호와는 선하시니 그의 인자하심이 영원”(5절)하기 때문입니다. 좋으신 하나님이 우리를 사랑하십니다! 감사함으로 우리 모두 “주님께 즐거운 찬송을 부릅시다!”(시 100:1).     • 사랑하는 주님, 우리 마음이 감사함으로 주님을 찬양하게 하소서. 주님은 선하시며 행하시는 모든 일이 선하기 때문입니다. 주님의 사랑은 영원하십니다! 찬양은 기쁜 마음이 흘러넘치는 것이다. 1. 솔로몬이 기도를 마치매 불이 하늘에서부터 내려와서 그 번제물과 제물들을 사르고 여호와의 영광이 그 성전에 가득하니 2. 여호와의 영광이 여호와의 전에 가득하므로 제사장들이 여호와의 전으로 능히 들어가지 못하였고 3. 이스라엘 모든 자손은 불이 내리는 것과 여호와의 영광이 성전 위에 있는 것을 보고 돌을 깐 땅에 엎드려 경배하며 여호와께 감사하여 이르되 선하시도다 그의 인자하심이 영원하도다 하니라 4. 이에 왕과 모든 백성이 여호와 앞에 제사를 드리니 5. 솔로몬 왕이 드린 제물이 소가 이만 이천 마리요 양이 십이만 마리라 이와 같이 왕과 모든 백성이 하나님의 전의 낙성식을 행하니라 6. 그 때에 제사장들은 직분대로 모셔 서고 레위 사람도 여호와의 악기를 가지고 섰으니 이 악기는 전에 다윗 왕이 레위 사람들에게 여호와께 감사하게 하려고 만들어서 여호와의 인자하심이 영원함을 찬송하게 하던 것이라 제사장들은 무리 앞에서 나팔을 불고 온 이스라엘은 서 있더라 7. 솔로몬이 또 여호와의 전 앞뜰 가운데를 거룩하게 하고 거기서 번제물과 화목제의 기름을 드렸으니 이는 솔로몬이 지은 놋 제단이 능히 그 번제물과 소제물과 기름을 용납할 수 없음이더라 8. 그 때에 솔로몬이 칠 일 동안 절기를 지켰는데 하맛 어귀에서부터 애굽 강까지의 온 이스라엘의 심히 큰 회중이 모여 그와 함께 하였더니 9. 여덟째 날에 무리가 한 성회를 여니라 제단의 낙성식을 칠 일 동안 행한 후 이 절기를 칠 일 동안 지키니라 10. 일곱째 달 제이십삼일에 왕이 백성을 그들의 장막으로 돌려보내매 백성이 여호와께서 다윗과 솔로몬과 그의 백성 이스라엘에게 베푸신 은혜로 말미암아 기뻐하며 마음에 즐거워하였더라
