Extreme Measures 특단의 대책 [ Luke 19:1 - 19:10 ] - hymn 105 The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. Luke 19:10 A few years ago, a friend of mine lost track of her young son while walking through a swarm of people at Union Station in Chicago. Needless to say, it was a terrifying experience. Frantically, she yelled his name and ran back up the escalator, retracing her steps in an effort to find her little boy. The minutes of separation seemed like hours, until suddenly—thankfully—her son emerged from the crowd and ran to the safety of her arms. Thinking of my friend who would have done anything to find her child fills me with a renewed sense of gratitude for the amazing work God did to save us. From the time God’s first image-bearers—Adam and Eve—wandered off in sin, He lamented the loss of fellowship with His people. He went to great lengths to restore the relationship by sending His one and only Son “to seek and to save the lost”(Luke 19:10). Without the birth of Jesus, and without His willingness to die to pay the price for our sin and to bring us to God, we would have nothing to celebrate at Christmastime. So this Christmas, let’s be thankful that God took extreme measures by sending Jesus to reclaim our fellowship with Him. Although we once were lost, because of Jesus we have been found! Joe Stowell [ 누가복음 19:1 - 19:10 ] - 찬송가 105 장 인자가 온 것은 잃어버린 자를 찾아 구원하려 함이니라 누가복음 19:10 몇 년 전 내 친구는 시카고의 유니언 기차역에서 많은 인파 속을 걷다가 어린 아들을 잃어버렸습니다. 말할 필요도 없이 그것은 엄청나게 두려운 일이었습니다. 친구는 어린 아들을 찾기 위해 정신없이 아이 이름을 부르며 에스컬레이터를 거꾸로 뛰어 올라가 왔던 길을 되돌아갔습니다. 감사하게도 그녀의 아들이 갑작스레 사람들 속에서 튀어나와 엄마 품으로 안전하게 달려왔지만, 잠깐 헤어졌던 그 몇 분이 친구에게는 몇 시간처럼 길게 느껴졌습니다. 자기 아이를 찾기 위해 무엇이든 하려 했던 내 친구를 생각하며, 나는 하나님께서 우리를 구원하시기 위해 정말 놀라운 일을 행하셨다는 것이 새롭게 느껴졌습니다. 하나님의 형상을 지닌 첫 존재들인 아담과 하와가 죄를 지어 방황하게 되었을 때, 하나님은 자기 백성과 교제할 수 없게 된 것을 슬퍼하셨습니다. 하나님은 “잃어버린 자를 찾아 구원하려”(눅 19:10) 그분의 하나뿐인 아들을 보내면서까지 그 관계를 회복시키기 위해 무엇이든 하셨습니다. 예수님의 탄생과 우리의 죄 값을 치르고 우리를 하나님께로 이끄시기 위해 기꺼이 돌아가신 주님의 희생이 없었다면 우리에게 크리스마스 절기에 기념할 것은 아무것도 없었을 것입니다. 이번 크리스마스에는 하나님과 우리의 관계를 회복시키기 위해 특단의 대책으로 예수님을 보내신 하나님께 감사합시다. 비록 전에는 우리가 잃어버린 자들이었지만 예수님으로 인해 우리는 다시 찾은 자들이 되었습니다.

• Heavenly Father, in the midst of all the joy of Christmas, remind me that the true meaning of this season lies in the depth of Your love. Thank You for sending Jesus to reclaim undeserving people like me! Christmas is about God taking extreme measures to reclaim those who were lost. 1. Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. 2. A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. 3. He wanted to see who Jesus was, but being a short man he could not, because of the crowd. 4. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way. 5. When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, "Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today." 6. So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly. 7. All the people saw this and began to mutter, "He has gone to be the guest of a `sinner.'" 8. But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount." 9. Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. 10. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost." • 하늘에 계신 아버지, 크리스마스의 모든 기쁨 속에서 이 기간의 진정한 의미가 하나님의 깊은 사랑에 있음을 상기시켜주소서! 저와 같이 자격 없는 사람들을 다시 찾으시기 위해 예수님을 보내주셔서 감사합니다. 크리스마스는 잃어버린 자들을 다시 찾으시려고 특별한 조치를 취하신 하나님을 기념하는 날이다. 1. 예수께서 여리고로 들어가 지나가시더라 2. 삭개오라 이름하는 자가 있으니 세리장이요 또한 부자라 3. 그가 예수께서 어떠한 사람인가 하여 보고자 하되 키가 작고 사람이 많아 할 수 없어 4. 앞으로 달려가서 보기 위하여 돌무화과나무에 올라가니 이는 예수께서 그리로 지나가시게 됨이러라 5. 예수께서 그 곳에 이르사 쳐다 보시고 이르시되 삭개오야 속히 내려오라 내가 오늘 네 집에 유하여야 하겠다 하시니 6. 급히 내려와 즐거워하며 영접하거늘 7. 뭇 사람이 보고 수군거려 이르되 저가 죄인의 집에 유하러 들어갔도다 하더라 8. 삭개오가 서서 주께 여짜오되 주여 보시옵소서 내 소유의 절반을 가난한 자들에게 주겠사오며 만일 누구의 것을 속여 빼앗은 일이 있으면 네 갑절이나 갚겠나이다 9. 예수께서 이르시되 오늘 구원이 이 집에 이르렀으니 이 사람도 아브라함의 자손임이로다 10. 인자가 온 것은 잃어버린 자를 찾아 구원하려 함이니라
