The Via Dolorosa 비아 돌로로사 [ Hebrews 10:1 - 10:10 ] - hymn 144 We have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Hebrews 10:10 During Holy Week, we remember the final days before Jesus’s crucifixion. The road Jesus traveled to the cross through the streets of Jerusalem is known today as the Via Dolorosa, the way of sorrows. But the writer of Hebrews viewed the path Jesus took as more than just a path of sorrows. The way of suffering that Jesus willingly walked to Golgotha made a “new and living way” into the presence of God for us(Hebrews 10:20).  For centuries the Jewish people had sought to come into God’s presence through animal sacrifices and by seeking to keep the law. But the law was “only a shadow of the good things that are coming,” for “it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins”(vv. 1, 4).  Jesus’s journey down the Via Dolorosa led to His death and resurrection. Because of His sacrifice, we can be made holy when we trust in Him for the forgiveness of our sins. Even though we aren’t able to keep the law perfectly, we can draw near to God without fear, fully confident that we are welcomed and loved(vv. 10, 22).    Christ’s way of sorrow opened for us a new and living way to God. Amy Peterson [ 히브리서 10:1 - 10:10 ] - 찬송가 144 장 예수 그리스도의 몸을 단번에 드리심으로 말미암아 우리가 거룩함을 얻었노라 히브리서 10:10 우리는 고난주간에 예수님의 십자가 사건 전 마지막 며칠을 기념합니다. 예수님이 십자가를 향해 올라가시던 예루살렘의 거리는 오늘날 슬픔의 길이라는 뜻으로 ‘비아 돌로로사’라고 부릅니다. 그러나 히브리서 저자는 예수님이 가신 그 길을 단순히 슬픔의 길보다 더 큰 의미로 보았습니다. 예수님이 골고다를 향하여 기꺼이 걸어가신 고통의 길은 우리가 하나님이 계신 데로 나아가게 해주는 “새로운 생명의 길”이 되었다는 것입니다(히 10:20). 유대인들은 오랜 동안 짐승을 희생 제물로 바치고 율법을 지킴으로 하나님께로 나아가는 길을 찾았습니다. 그러나 율법은 “장차 올 좋은 일의 그림자일 뿐”이었습니다. 왜냐하면 “황소와 염소의 피가 능히 죄를 없이 하지 못하기” 때문이었습니다(1, 4절). 예수님이 걸어가신 비아 돌로로사는 그의 죽으심과 부활로 이어졌습니다. 예수님의 희생으로 말미암아 우리는 그를 믿어 죄 사함을 받고 거룩하게 될 수 있습니다. 우리는 율법을 온전히 지킬 수 없지만 환영 받고 사랑 받는다는 확신을 가지고 두려움 없이 하나님께 나아갈 수 있습니다(10, 22절). 그리스도의 슬픔의 길이 우리에게 하나님께 나아가는 새로운 생명의 길을 열어놓았습니다.

• Jesus, thank You for walking the way of sorrow and making a way for us to be reconciled to God. Christ’s sacrifice was what God desired and what our sin required. 1. The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming -- not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship. 2. If it could, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins. 3. But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins, 4. because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. 5. Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: "Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; 6. with burnt offerings and sin offerings you were not pleased. 7. Then I said, `Here I am -- it is written about me in the scroll -- I have come to do your will, O God.'" 8. First he said, "Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them" (although the law required them to be made). 9. Then he said, "Here I am, I have come to do your will." He sets aside the first to establish the second. 10. And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. • 예수님, 슬픔의 길을 걸어가셔서 우리가 하나님과 화목할 수 있는 길을 열어 주시니 감사합니다. 그리스도의 희생은 하나님이 원하시고 또 우리의 죄를 위해 필요한 것이었다. 1. 율법은 장차 올 좋은 일의 그림자일 뿐이요 참 형상이 아니므로 해마다 늘 드리는 같은 제사로는 나아오는 자들을 언제나 온전하게 할 수 없느니라 2. 그렇지 아니하면 섬기는 자들이 단번에 정결하게 되어 다시 죄를 깨닫는 일이 없으리니 어찌 제사 드리는 일을 그치지 아니하였으리요 3. 그러나 이 제사들에는 해마다 죄를 기억하게 하는 것이 있나니 4. 이는 황소와 염소의 피가 능히 죄를 없이 하지 못함이라 5. 그러므로 주께서 세상에 임하실 때에 이르시되 하나님이 제사와 예물을 원하지 아니하시고 오직 나를 위하여 한 몸을 예비하셨도다 6. 번제와 속죄제는 기뻐하지 아니하시나니 7. 이에 내가 말하기를 하나님이여 보시옵소서 두루마리 책에 나를 가리켜 기록된 것과 같이 하나님의 뜻을 행하러 왔나이다 하셨느니라 8. 위에 말씀하시기를 주께서는 제사와 예물과 번제와 속죄제는 원하지도 아니하고 기뻐하지도 아니하신다 하셨고 (이는 다 율법을 따라 드리는 것이라) 9. 그 후에 말씀하시기를 보시옵소서 내가 하나님의 뜻을 행하러 왔나이다 하셨으니 그 첫째 것을 폐하심은 둘째 것을 세우려 하심이라 10. 이 뜻을 따라 예수 그리스도의 몸을 단번에 드리심으로 말미암아 우리가 거룩함을 얻었노라
