17 August Tue, 2010 True Prosperity [ Mark 10:17 - 10:23 ] - hymn253 How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God! — Mark 10:23 A few years ago, the banking empire Citicorp ran a series of billboards about money: “Money changes hands—just be sure it doesn’t change the rest of you!” and “If people say you’re made of money, you should work on your personality!” These ads gave a refreshingly new perspective on riches. God also has a surprising spin on wealth. From His perspective, you can be “well off” when it comes to worldly treasures and yet be in dire poverty in your soul. Or you can be poor in terms of earthside stuff and be lavishly rich by God’s standards. The distorting power of wealth reminds me of the story of the rich young ruler. After a discussion about eternal life, Jesus asked him to sell his possessions, give to the poor, and follow Him. Unfortunately, the man “went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions” (Mark 10:22). This prompted Jesus’ lesson to the disciples: “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!” (v.23). It’s not that Jesus is against wealth. It’s just that He is grieved by anything that we value more than Him. We can work hard and make money, but when those things are the main pursuit of life, then Jesus isn’t. Placing Him first and foremost in our lives is the key to true prosperity.     He possessed all the world had to give him, He had reached every coveted goal; But, alas, his life was a failure, For he had forgotten his soul. — Denison Don’t let riches—or the pursuit of riches— derail your pursuit of Jesus. Mark 10:17-23 [17] Now as He was going out on the road, one came running, knelt before Him, and asked Him, "Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?" [18] So Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good but one, that is, God. [19] "You know the commandments： 'Do not commit adultery,' 'Do not murder,' 'Do not steal,' 'Do not bear false witness,' 'Do not defraud,' 'Honor your father and your mother.'" [20] And he answered and said to Him, "Teacher, all these things I have kept from my youth." [21] Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, one thing you lack： Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me." [22] But he was sad at this word, and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. 2010년 08월 17일 (화) 진정한 풍요로움 [ 마가복음 10:17 - 10:23 ] - 찬송가 253장 재물이 있는 자는 하나님의 나라에 들어가기가 심히 어렵도다 - 마가복음 10:23 몇년 전, 거대 은행인 시티그룹이 돈에 관해 다음과 같은 일련의 광고판을 설치한 적이 있었습니다. “돈은 그것을 쥔 손을 바꿉니다. 하지만 돈이 당신의 나머지 부분들까지 바꾸게 하지 않도록 조심하십시오” “만일 사람들이 당신에게는 돈이 전부라고 말한다면, 당신의 인격은 변화되어야 합니다!” 이 광고 문구들은 부에 대한 매우 새로운 견해를 제시해주었습니다. 하나님도 부에 대해서 매우 다른 관점을 가지고 계십니다. 하나님의 관점에서 보면, 당신이 세상의 재물을 많이 가진 “부유”한 사람일지라도 영혼은 매우 가난한 상태일 수 있습니다. 또는 당신은 세상적인 것들에 대해서는 가난할지라도 하나님의 기준으로는 매우 풍요로울 수 있습니다. 돈 많은 청년 관원의 이야기를 통해 부의왜곡된 영향력에 대해 생각해 볼 수 있습니다. 영생에 대하여 이야기를 나눈 후에, 예수님은 그에게 모든 재산을 팔아 가난한 자들에게 나누어주고 주님을 따르라고 요구하셨습니다. 불행히도 그 사람은 “재물이 많은 고로...근심하며”(막 10:22) 갔습니다. 예수님은 이 모습을 보고 제자들에게 “재물이 있는 자는 하나님의 나라에 들어가기가 심히 어렵도다”(23절)라고 가르쳐주셨습니다. 예수님은 부에 대해 무조건 나쁘다고 하시지 않습니다. 단지 우리가 예수님보다 다른 것을 더 중요하게 여길 때 슬퍼하십니다. 우리는열심히 일하고 돈을 벌 수 있습니다. 하지만 그런 것들이 우리 인생의 주된 관심사가 될 때 예수님은 우리의 관심에서 멀어집니다. 예수님을 우리의 인생에서 최우선적으로 가장 높은 곳에 모실 때 우리의 삶은 진정 풍요로워질 것입니다.     세상이 주는 모든 것을 다 가지고 탐욕스런 모든 목표들을 다 이루었다 해도 그러나 슬프게도 그의 인생은 실패일 뿐이다 그가 그의 영혼을 잊어버리고 말았기에 부나 부를 추구하는 탐욕이 예수님을 추구하는 것을 방해하지 않게 하라. 마가복음 10:17-23 [17] 예수께서 길에 나가실새 한 사람이 달려와서 꿇어 앉아 묻자오되 선한 선생님이여 내가 무엇을 하여야 영생을 얻으리이까 [18] 예수께서 이르시되 네가 어찌하여 나를 선하다 일컫느냐 하나님 한 분 외에는 선한 이가 없느니라 [19] 네가 계명을 아나니 살인하지 말라, 간음하지 말라, 도둑질하지 말라, 거짓 증언 하지 말라, 속여 빼앗지 말라, 네 부모를 공경하라 하였느니라 [20] 그가 여짜오되 선생님이여 이것은 내가 어려서부터 다 지켰나이다 [21] 예수께서 그를 보시고 사랑하사 이르시되 네게 아직도 한 가지 부족한 것이 있으니 가서 네게 있는 것을 다 팔아 가난한 자들에게 주라 그리하면 하늘에서 보화가 네게 있으리라 그리고 와서 나를 따르라 하시니 [22] 그 사람은 재물이 많은 고로 이 말씀으로 인하여 슬픈 기색을 띠고 근심하며 가니라 [23] 예수께서 둘러 보시고 제자들에게 이르시되 재물이 있는 자는 하나님의 나라에 들어가기가 심히 어렵도다 하시니
