19 August Thu, 2010 Mozart’s Pet Bird [ Psalms 104:1 - 104:13 ] - hymn75 The birds of the heavens ... sing among the branches. — Psalm 104:12 Mozart is revered as a genius of musical composition. In one instance, he was even inspired by the melody of a bird. Mozart had a pet starling whose song so fascinated him that some say he wrote a piece of music based on the melody he heard in the bird’s chirps. Birds were also an inspiration to the psalmist. In Psalm 104, he praises God for caring for the living creatures He put on the earth. Included in his observations are birds who fly in the heavens above, perch in the branches of trees, and sing songs of heartfelt joy: “The birds of the heavens have their home; they sing among the branches”(v.12). Nature filled the psalmist’s heart with praise to God, and I think that must have included the musical sounds of the birds. Often the marvels we see in creation prompt us to worship. This theme is repeated throughout Scripture: “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork”(Ps.19:1). Creation’s stimulus to praise need not be limited to the visual. It can also be widened to include hearing nature’s songs. As we go about our daily routine, we can tune our hearts to the melodies God has placed in His creatures and let them serve as an added springboard of praise to the Creator.     As Mozart added the song of a bird To a musical innovation, Let’s all add our voice to the worldwide song Of praise to the God of creation. — F. O LORD my God, You are very great： You are clothed with honor and majesty, [2] Who cover Yourself with light as with a garment, Who stretch out the heavens like a curtain. [3] He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters, Who makes the clouds His chariot, Who walks on the wings of the wind, [4] Who makes His angels spirits, His ministers a flame of fire. [5] You who laid the foundations of the earth, So that it should not be moved forever, [6] You covered it with the deep as with a garment; The waters stood above the mountains. [7] At Your rebuke they fled; At the voice of Your thunder they hastened away. [8] They went up over the mountains; They went down into the valleys, To the place which You founded for them. [9] You have set a boundary that they may not pass over, That they may not return to cover the earth. [10] He sends the springs into the valleys, They flow among the hills. [11] They give drink to every beast of the field; The wild donkeys quench their thirst. [12] By them the birds of the heavens have their home; They sing among the branches. [13] He waters the hills from His upper chambers; The earth is satisfied with the fruit of Your works.

2010년 08월 19일 (목) 모차르트의 찌르레기 [ 시편 104:1 - 104:13 ] - 찬송가 75장 공중의 새들이...나무가지 사이에서 소리를 발하는도다 - 시편 104:12 모차르트는 천재적인 작곡자로 존경 받습니다. 그가 한번은 새소리의 멜로디에서도 영감을 받았습니다. 모차르트는 찌르레기를 길렀는데, 그 새의 노래 소리에 너무나 매료되어 그 새가 지저귀었던 멜로디를 주제로 훗날 한 작품을 쓰기도 했습니다. 새들은 시편기자에게도 영감을 주었습니다. 시편 104편에서 시편기자는 지구에 창조 해 놓은 생물들을 보살피시는 하나님을 찬양하고 있습니다. 그가 관찰한 것 중에는 하늘을 날아다니며, 나뭇가지에 깃들이고, 진심으로 기쁨의 노래를 부르는 새들도 들어 있습니다. “공중의 새들이 그 가에서 깃들이며, 나무 가지 사이에서 소리를 발하는도다”(12절). 자연은 시편기자의 마음을 하나님에 대한 찬양으로 가득 채웠는데, 내 생각에 그 가운데에는 새들의 음악 같은 노랫소리도 분명 포함되어 있었을 것입니다. 종종 우리는 피조물들의 경이로움을 보고 하나님께 경배하게 되는데 이 주제는 성경전체에 걸쳐 두루 반복됩니다. “하늘이 하나님의 영광을 선포하고 궁창이 그 손으로 하신 일을 나타내는도다”(시 19:1). 피조물들을 보고 고무되어 하나님을 찬양하는 것이 꼭 시각적인 것에만 있는 것은 아닙니다. 자연의 노래를 듣는 것으로도 더 넓혀질 수 있습니다. 일상생활 가운데에서 우리 마음을 하나님의 피조물들이 내는 멜로디에 맞추고 그것들로 하여금 창조주 하나님을 찬양하는 또 하나의 도약대가 되도록 합시다.     모차르트가 음악을 혁신하는데 새의 노랫소리를 더하였듯이 창조주 하나님을 찬양하는 온 세상 노랫소리에 우리 모두의 목소리를 보태세 모든 자연 만물은 창조주 하나님이 지휘하는 위대한 교향곡이다. 시편 104:1-13 [1] 내 영혼아 여호와를 송축하라 여호와 나의 하나님이여 주는 심히 위대하시며 존귀와 권위로 옷 입으셨나이다 [2] 주께서 옷을 입음 같이 빛을 입으시며 하늘을 휘장 같이 치시며 [3] 물에 자기 누각의 들보를 얹으시며 구름으로 자기 수레를 삼으시고 바람 날개로 다니시며 [4] 바람을 자기 사신으로 삼으시고 불꽃으로 자기 사역자를 삼으시며 [5] 땅에 기초를 놓으사 영원히 흔들리지 아니하게 하셨나이다 [6] 옷으로 덮음 같이 주께서 땅을 깊은 바다로 덮으시매 물이 산들 위로 솟아올랐으나 [7] 주께서 꾸짖으시니 물은 도망하며 주의 우렛소리로 말미암아 빨리 가며 [8] 주께서 그들을 위하여 정하여 주신 곳으로 흘러갔고 산은 오르고 골짜기는 내려갔나이다 [9] 주께서 물의 경계를 정하여 넘치지 못하게 하시며 다시 돌아와 땅을 덮지 못하게 하셨나이다 [10] 여호와께서 샘을 골짜기에서 솟아나게 하시고 산 사이에 흐르게 하사 [11] 각종 들짐승에게 마시게 하시니 들나귀들도 해갈하며 [12] 공중의 새들도 그 가에서 깃들이며 나뭇가지 사이에서 지저귀는도다 [13] 그가 그의 누각에서부터 산에 물을 부어 주시니 주께서 하시는 일의 결실이 땅을 만족시켜 주는도다
