사랑하라는 명령

09 September Thu, 2010 Commanded To Love [ 1 John 3:16 - 3:24 ] - hymn416 This is His command-ment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another. - 1 John 3:23   As a result of adult children neglecting their responsibilities, some elderly parents in Singapore are forced to seek financial help from charities and other state agencies. Speaking about this escalating situation, a government official said, “We cannot legislate love.” In the Bible, however, love is commanded. That is what Moses told the nation of Israel: “I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways” (Deut. 30:16). And Jesus said that the greatest commandment is to “love the Lord your God” (Mark 12:30). How can God command love? His supreme display of love at Calvary gave Him that right. Jesus’ beloved disciple, John, wrote: “By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. . . . This is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment” (1 John 3:16,23). What opportunities do you have to obey God’s command to love? Honoring parents by caring and providing for them? Ministering to a sick friend? Offering a gracious and kind word to someone who is difficult to love? Lord, because You laid down Your life for us, help us to show love to others.     Love is an attitude, love is a prayer, For someone in sorrow, a heart in despair; Love is good will for the gain of another, Love suffers long with the fault of a brother. —Anon We show our love for God when we love one another. 1 John 3:16-24 [16] By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. [17] But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? [18] My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. [19] And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him. [20] For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. [21] Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. [22] And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. [23] And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment. [24] Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

2010년 09월 09일 (목) 사랑하라는 명령 [ 요한1서 3:16 - 3:24 ] - 찬송가 416장 그의 계명은 이것이니 곧 그 아들 예수 그리스도의 이름을 믿고 그가 우리에게 주신 계명대로 서로 사랑할 것이니라 - 요한1서 3:23   노부모의 부양책임을 회피하는 자녀들 때문에 싱가포르에 있는 어떤 노부모들은 자선단체나 다른 국영단체에 경제적 도움을 요청하는 처지에 놓이곤 합니다. 이런 추세가 확산되어 가는 것에 대해 말하면서 한 정부 관리는 “그렇더라도 우리는 사랑을 법률로 제정할 수는 없습니다.”라고 말했습니다. 그러나 성경은 사랑하라고 명령하고 있습니다. 모세는 이스라엘 백성에게 “내가 오늘날 너를 명하여 네 하나님 여호와를 사랑하고 그 모든 길로 행하라하는 것이라”(신30:16) 라고 말했습니다. 예수님도 “주 너의 하나님을 사랑”하는 것이 가장 큰 계명이라고 말씀하셨습니다(막 12:30). 하나님이 어떻게 사랑을 명령하실 수 있을까요? 하나님은 갈보리에서 보여주셨던 최고의 사랑을 통해 사랑을 명령하실 권리를 얻으셨습니다. 예수님이 사랑하셨던 제자 요한은 “그가 우리를 위하여 목숨을 버리셨으니 우리가 이로써 사랑을 알고...그의 계명은 이것이니 곧 그 아들 예수 그리스도의 이름을 믿고 그가 우리에게 주신 계명대로 서로 사랑할 것이니라”라고 기록하였습니다(요일 3:16,23). 사랑하라는 하나님의 명령에 순종해야 될 때는 어떤 때일까요? 부 모님을 모시고 부양하며 공경하는 일입니까? 아픈 친구를 돌보는 일입니까? 사랑하기 힘든 사람에게 은혜롭고 다정하게 말을 건네는 일입니까? 우리를 위하여 목숨을 버리신 주님, 우리가 다른 사람들에게 사랑을 나타낼 수 있도록 도와주소서.     사랑이란 슬픔에 잠기고 절망하는 사람들을 향한 마음가짐이며 기도입니다 사랑은 남의 유익을 위하려는 선한 의지이며 형제의 잘못을 오래 참는 것입니다 우리가 서로 사랑할 때 하나님을 향한 우리의 사랑이 드러난다. 요한1서 3:16-24 [16] 그가 우리를 위하여 목숨을 버리셨으니 우리가 이로써 사랑을 알고 우리도 형제들을 위하여 목숨을 버리는 것이 마땅하니라 [17] 누가 이 세상의 재물을 가지고 형제의 궁핍함을 보고도 도와 줄 마음을 닫으면 하나님의 사랑이 어찌 그 속에 거하겠느냐 [18] 자녀들아 우리가 말과 혀로만 사랑하지 말고 행함과 진실함으로 하자 [19] 이로써 우리가 진리에 속한 줄을 알고 또 우리 마음을 주 앞에서 굳세게 하리니 [20] 이는 우리 마음이 혹 우리를 책망할 일이 있어도 하나님은 우리 마음보다 크시고 모든 것을 아시기 때문이라 [22] 무엇이든지 구하는 바를 그에게서 받나니 이는 우리가 그의 계명을 지키고 그 앞에서 기뻐하시는 것을 행함이라 [23] 그의 계명은 이것이니 곧 그 아들 예수 그리스도의 이름을 믿고 그가 우리에게 주신 계명대로 서로 사랑할 것이라 [24] 그의 계명을 지키는 자는 주 안에 거하고 주는 그의 안에 거하시나니 우리에게 주신 성령으로 말미암아 그가 우리 안에 거하시는 줄을 우리가 아느니라
